Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

The short version

  • You do not need an account to use eflnet.
  • We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information.
  • We show ads from Google AdSense and use Google Analytics. Google uses cookies to do this.
  • You can turn off personalized ads and block cookies at any time.

Who we are

eflnet (eflnet.com) is a free website for people learning English. It has been online since 1998. If you have a question about this policy, email richie@eflnet.com.

Information we collect

eflnet does not have accounts, sign-up forms or comment boxes, so we do not collect personal information from you directly. Your exercise answers and game scores stay in your browser. They are not sent to us.

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you, and we never sell or share them.

Website hosting

eflnet is hosted by Vercel. Like every web server, Vercel’s servers process basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to send pages to your device and to protect the site from abuse. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use eflnet: which pages are popular, how visitors find the site, and what kind of devices they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your browser and device type, your approximate location (country or city), and the website that sent you here.

We only look at this information as totals and trends. We do not use it to identify you.

To stop Google Analytics from collecting your data on any website, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

eflnet is free because of ads. The ads are provided by Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or to other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies lets Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can turn off personalized advertising in Google’s My Ad Center. If you do, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
  • You can opt out of personalized ads from many other ad companies at aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.

To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small text files that websites save in your browser. On eflnet, cookies are used by Google AdSense and Google Analytics. eflnet itself does not set cookies to track you.

Where the law requires it (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before cookies are used for personalized ads or analytics. You can change your choice at any time.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but the ads you see will be less relevant to you.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it is used. This includes rights under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and under privacy laws in California and other U.S. states.

Because eflnet does not store personal information about visitors (other than emails you send us), most of these requests are handled by Google. You can manage your data through your Google Account or the opt-out links above.

We do not sell personal information. Some U.S. state laws treat personalized advertising as “selling” or “sharing” personal information. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time using the links in the Advertising section.

Children

eflnet is a general-audience website for English learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has sent us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

eflnet links to other websites, including our YouTube and Pinterest pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
